While feminist activists often skew the definition of 'sexist' (or sexism) toward a more pejorative use, the actual definition (sexism) fits quite well (from M-W):

1. "Predudice or discrimination based on sex, expecially against women"

The Church disqualifies women from the priesthood for no other reason than they are women.

While your service to this country is indeed appreciated, you should resign as a catechist. Your use of the term 'heretic' against a fellow catholic is both judgmental and misplaced. The formation of neophyte catholics, especially those on a journey of conversion, is not well served by someone as quick as you to judge.

Finally, on the issue of VOTF: it may be a 'dissenter' organization, but I ask you (all) seriously, what is a spiritually enlightened, intelligent Catholic to do when THEIR church fails to live up to Christ's most basic teaching?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091192923206493007.post-69254296322373334712010-10-27T21:49:00.978-04:002010-10-27T21:49:00.978-04:00An educational flyer was bestowed on some attendee...An educational flyer was bestowed on some attendees of this gabfest. Also, a special thanks go out to your wife and children who also sacrific for you.

Unfortunately, a visit from the Cardinal elect will do nothing. He had some people gathered around him and he was pointing to a poster of seminarians and was saying: "Do you see the women here? No, because the priesthood is a sexist organization." That is what happens when you let heretics come into the parish and have their meetings. We are a military family temporarily attending this parish. We wish we could stay and try to make changes. This parish needs help......and a visit from Cardinal-designate Wuerl. I'm staying anonymous here because I'm a catechist and I don't want to be prevented from teaching because of my comment here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091192923206493007.post-74054132439967163712010-10-25T07:35:09.954-04:002010-10-25T07:35:09.954-04:00To Anon at Oct. 24 at 11pm.
