Deacon Mark Asselin Has Gone Dark!

Now, I noticed this about two months ago but forgot to report on it.  What is it?

Well it seems that Deacon Mark Asselin (@deekmark) has gone dark!

What do I mean by that?  He has deleted all of his social media presence on X (aka Twitter).  And it looks like Blue Sky, but I am not 100% certain of this.

So, why do you think?  Well, Deacon Mark has been quite critical of President Trump and supportive of Biden/Kamala.  You can look at my postings of him over the years.

But more importantly, he is a Senior Advisor to the Department of Defense.  Guess he does not want to lose his job.  Wonders if he is slow walking assignments or if he is withholding information?

St. Teresa of Avila (DC) - What is Going On?

A reader informed me that we have another bit of a rogue parish in the Archdiocese of Washington but not that the Cardinal cares, as he is a short timer -- less than two weeks from full retirement.

The parish in question: St. Teresa of Avila located in SE DC.

Now they do a number of things that most parishes do, and should be commended for.  They pray the Rosary, they have a St. Vincent DePaul Society, a prison ministry, etc.

However, there are some issues, as a reader points out.

1. At apx. 1:33 we being to have the liturgical dance group perform in the middle of the Mass.  If my parish can't say the St. Michael Prayer during Mass (and it should not), then time to eliminate the interpretive dance stuff.   And it lasts for almost ten minutes.

2.   At the end of Mass, the Pastor makes a political accusation  stating that the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was fired because of his race and that the Chief of Naval Operations was fired because she was a women.  Does he have some sort of inside information or is he just speculating?  Seems to me that he is simply race and gender baiting.

3.  And finally, he invites the parish to do some sort of Native American prayer circle around the altar.

Update on Whistleblower Fr. Briese in his battle w/ +Gregory

Even though Cardinal Gregory is on his way out, he continues to make life difficult for Fr. Briese.

According to one of the latest articles in Complicit Clergy:

The People of God expect their priests to be “fathers” who guard the flock against corruption and who are voices of truth when it is most needed. The thanks Washington Father Michael Briese received for doing this was to have his faculties revoked over three years ago by Cardinal Wilton Gregory whom he confronted for shielding accused sexual predators, Fathers Adam Park and Carter Griffin, and whom he called upon to address allegations that Gregory himself engaged in homosexual misconduct while he was Archbishop of Atlanta.

Briese has raised concerns that for more than three years, Gregory has ignored the credible sworn affidavits of multiple seminarians reporting that Park preyed on seminarians at the North American College (NAC) in Rome and engaged in homosexual misconduct in the Washington Archdiocese. While Park, who is a defendant in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court, abruptly resigned from his post as the NAC’s vice-rector in 2021 when these affidavits became public, Gregory continues to cover for him by allowing him to remain in ministry in the Washington Archdiocese. Having been mentored and ordained by ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, and having worked as the personal secretary for disgraced Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Park knows all the intimate secrets of McCarrick, Wuerl, and Gregory and will be protected like Al Capone attempted to protect his accountant from Eliot Ness.
