Do you use Twitter? How it protects Planned Parenthood!

Increasingly, media outlets and pro-choice politicians are labeling pro-life groups with these derogatory terms and openly calling on social media outlets to censor pro-life voices, especially those with increasingly large online followings.

Learn how Twitter is doing this to pro-life groups by going to this Washington Examiner article.

A Friday Funny

A Jesuit, a Dominican, and a Franciscan were walking along an old road, debating the greatness of their orders. Suddenly, an apparition of the Holy Family appeared in front of them, with Jesus in a manger and Mary and Joseph praying over him. The Franciscan fell on his face, overcome with awe at the sight of God born in such poverty. The Dominican fell to his knees, adoring the beautiful reflection of the Trinity and the Holy Family. The Jesuit walked up to Joseph, put his arm around his shoulder, and said, “So, have you thought about where to send him to school?

I can't get credit for this one.

James Martin at Holy Trinity in DC - Let's Help Stop It!

Seems that Holy Trinity has invited James Martin to speak.

Seems that we must contact the Archdiocese of Washington to get him disinvited.

A Weekend Funny in Honor of Nancy Pelosi

I cannot take credit for this, but this is in honor of Nancy Pelosi, that preeminent catholyc theologian and elected official.  This is also in honor of all of her catholyc supporters, esp. in the Archdiocese of Washington.

+++++++++++++++++++++

PELOSIUM

A major research institution has just announced the discovery of the densest element yet known to science. The new element has been named Pelosium. The chemical symbol of Pelosium is Pu.

Pelosium has one neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 311. These particles are held together by dark particles called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Pelosium’s mass actually increases over time, as morons randomly interact with various elements in the atmosphere and become assistant deputy neutrons within the Pelosium molecule, leading to the formation of isodopes. This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientist to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass.

When catalyzed with money, Pelosium activates MSNBCobnoxium and CNNadnausium, both elements that radiate orders of magnitude more energy, albeit as incoherent noise, since they have half as many peons but twice as many morons as Pelosium. Since it has no electrons, Pelosium is inert. However, it can be detected chemically as it impedes every reaction it comes in contact with. According to the discoverers, a minute amount of Pelosium causes one reaction to take over four days to complete when it would have normally occurred in less than a second.

In the presence of anti-morons, Pelosium can be extremely corrosive. Botox seems to distort and smooth it's surface, without impeding it's ongoing decay. Pelosium has a normal half-life of approximately two years, at which time it does not decay, but instead undergoes a transmutation, appearing in a new location but displaying the same properties. In this process, assistant neutrons, vice neutrons and assistant vice neutrons exchange places. Some studies have shown that the atomic mass actually increases after each transmutation.

Research at other laboratories indicates that Pelosium occurs naturally in the atmosphere. It tends to concentrate at certain points such as government agencies, large corporations, universities, and anywhere there is news coverage occurring. It can usually be found in the newest, best appointed, and best maintained buildings.

Scientists point out that Pelosium is known to be toxic at any level of concentration and can easily destroy any productive reaction where it is allowed to accumulate. Attempts are being made to determine how Pelosium can be controlled to prevent irreversible damage, but results to date are not promising.

What has happened to Our Lady of Mattaponi Retreat Center?

For the last two years, I have meant to write about this but I have a question:  What has happened to Our Lady of Mattaponi Retreat Center?

For many years, Our Lady of Mattaponi Retreat Center, located in Upper Marlboro, MD, was the place for many school groups and others to hold their retreats.  A great deal of time was invested by volunteers, esp. when Fr. Mordino was alive, to keep the place in shape.

About three years or so ago, I noticed that the Retreat Center was no longer listed on the Archdiocese website.  It was still around and after paying a visit a few years ago, I noticed that it was run by another organization dealing with youth.  As I said, I meant to write about this a while back but never did, and so I don't remember exactly what the group did with youth.  But I seem to recall something about troubled youth.   My assumption was that they were leasing the site from the Archdiocese.

Recently, there have been rumors (thanks Melvin) that the center will be sold by the end of the calendar year.  The rumors, and again, I have not been able to verify this, that it will be sold to another diocese (think Geno's and Pat's) and that it was being kept quiet, due to the fact that the community may not be happy with the planned use.

What have you heard?

Theological College Disinvites Father James Martin From Speaking Engagement

From the National Catholic Reporter:

Jesuit Father James Martin, an editor at America magazine, has been disinvited from speaking at the Theological College, a seminary affiliated with The Catholic University of America, following pressure from online-based groups.

Father Martin was invited to speak Oct. 4 on the theme of encountering Christ. However, the Theological College said that, “since the publication of his book, Building a Bridge, Theological College has experienced increasing negative feedback from various social-media sites regarding the seminary’s invitation.”

Help Stop DACA and Maryland Catholic Conference!

It seems that the Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) is pushing to support DACA.   They are sending out their pre-written emails and asking everyone to simply sign.

However, you can turn the tables on the MCC and show them that those who violate the law, should not be rewarded.

When they send you the canned form to complete, simply change it.  Change the note to say that you do not support DACA and that you do not want your legislators to sponsor it.

Let's do it!

Pope Francis: Please Step Down from the Chair of Peter!

I have thought long and hard about this.

I have always said that the Holy Spirit gives us the Pope we deserve.

However, the more I think about it, and the more I read, we are seeing a true anti-church appear.

I see those who are struggling to keep the faith and the promote the faith, attacked an insulted both direct and indirect.  Sometimes, even from the Chair of Peter.

I see those leaders, appointed by the Pope, leading many astray both in word and in deed.

Of course, those who have always been against the Church, see and hear, and pick up on it with glee, adding fuel to the fire.

Therefore, I am respectfully calling upon Pope Francis, for the sake of the Roman Catholic Church, and all those who are in Communion with the Church, I beg you to please step down.

I am also calling upon all those, who believe as I do, to please raise your voice and ask Pope Francis to step down for the sake of the Roman Catholic Church.

St. John Paul II’s prophesy of an ‘anti-Church’!

Should the anti-Church succeed in commandeering all the space of the true Church, the rights of man will supplant the rights of God through the desecration of the sacraments, the sacrilege of the sanctuary, and the abuse of apostolic power.

Thus, politicians who vote for abortion and same-sex “marriage” will be welcome at the Communion rails; husbands and wives who have abandoned their spouses and children and entered into adulterous relationships will be admitted to the sacraments; priests and theologians who publicly reject Catholic doctrines and morals will be at liberty to exercise ministry and to spread dissent, while faithful Catholics will be marginalised, maligned and discredited at every turn.  Thus, the anti-Church would succeed in achieving its goal of dethroning God as Creator, Saviour and Sanctifier and replacing Him with man the self-creator, the self-saviour and the self-sanctifier.

Kathleen Matthews, Chair of the Democrat Party in Maryland

Well, it seems that the wife of Chris Matthews, is now the chair of the Democrat Party in Maryland.

I wonder if she will take up the Tom Perez policy that abortion is the litmus test for all members of the party.

Will Fr. Potts, Fr. Scott and the other priests and deacons continue to allow her to receive Holy Communion?

You know the answer.   So sad.

Cardinal Wuerl Must Deny Communion to Tom Perez!

Some of you may or may not know, that the Democrat National Committee (DNC) chair is Tom Perez.  Mr. Perez is a member (at least the last time I checked) of Holy Redeemer parish in Kensington, MD.  However, I do know that he has sometimes, at least in the past, attended Mass at St. Michael's in Silver Spring.

According to Breitbart:

The little tent of the Democratic Party just got smaller, as DNC chairman Tom Perez has called for all Democrats to walk in lockstep with Planned Parenthood on the question of abortion rights, effectively ruling out the possibility of “pro-life Democrats.”

Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health,” Perez said in a statement. “That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”

“At a time when women’s rights are under assault from the White House, the Republican Congress, and in states across the country,” he added, “we must speak up for this principle as loudly as ever and with one voice.”

Although the Democratic Party’s radically pro-abortion platform was galvanized in 1992, when the Party refused to allow the late Governor Robert P. Casey of Pennsylvania to give a speech against abortion at its National Convention, it has continued to harden into a fundamental pillar of the Party.

Yet in his address Friday, DNC leader Tom Perez became the first chairman of the party to demand absolute ideological purity on abortion rights, promising to only back Democratic candidates who embrace a woman’s right to choose.

I am calling upon Cardinal Wuerl, Fr. Hughes, Fr. Pineda, Deacons Davis and Dwyer and all those who assist with the distribution of Communion, in the Archdiocese of Washington and across the world, to deny him Communion for what he has espoused!

There is no need to parse what he has said.  There is no need to sit and chat with him.   He has made his views loud and clear!

Do not bring scandal upon the Archdiocese.  Stand with those who support LIFE and not DEATH!

Cardinal Wuerl just makes me continue to shake my head in shame!

In his Good Friday talk on the Seven Last Words of Christ during His crucifixion, Father Martin implied reduced complicity for the Lord’s executioners in their actions. And he cast doubt upon the meaning of Christ’s statement that “It is finished."

While the phrase is widely understood to be the fulfillment of God’s will, the Catholic Standard reported that Father Martin suggested it could also be interpreted as a resignation on the part of Christ  — that Jesus might not have known whether the apostles would carry on His work after He died.

This is a Start!

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 13, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – President Trump signed a law today overturning a last-minute Obama-era regulation forcing states to fund Planned Parenthood, America's largest abortion business.

The regulation, which pro-life groups call former President Obama's "parting gift" to the abortion industry, forced states to give Title X money to organizations that commit abortions.

Now, states – if they wish – will be able to withold Title X money from abortion-committing organizations, instead prioritizing non-abortion businesses. Federal Title X dollars fund "family planning services," but technically not abortion. However, government money Planned Parenthood receives helps the abortion-centered organization overall. This money is fungible, pro-life advocates say.

The U.S. House voted 230 to 188 to overturn this regulation on broke the tie, sending the bill Trump's desk. To read the full story, go here:

Of course PP only provides abortion...the evidence is here.

Though Planned Parenthood claims that women depend on them for prenatal care, Live Action investigators had an incredibly hard time finding facilities that offered it—though they found plenty offering abortions. Live Action contacted all 41 Planned Parenthood affiliates where undercover recording is permitted by state law, and only 5 facilities out of 97 said they provided prenatal care.

CRISIS – Catholic Higher Education & the Next Generation: Presidents Conference

Society is at a crossroads in the educational formation of the next generation, and the Church offers the only true way forward. Under attack from the secularist agenda set forth fifty years ago by the Land O' Lakes statement, a new generation of Catholic intellectuals have reacted by working to reestablish centers of opportunity in which our youth can engage in a genuine Catholic education.
Join the institute of Catholic Culture and The Cardinal Newman Society in welcoming the presidents of faithful Catholic colleges to discuss and debate the crisis and find a solution to the education of the next generation.
Speakers: Patrick Reilly, President, The Cardinal Newman Society; John Garvey, President, Catholic University of America; Father Sean Sheridan, President, Franciscan University of Steubenville; William Thierfelder, President, Belmont Abbey College; George Harne, President, Northeast Catholic College.
This event will take place Saturday, January 28 @ 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. RSVP Required. Free Admission. (This event will not be live broadcast.) at Cathedral of Saint Thomas More, 3901 North Cathedral Lane, Arlington, VA 22203.

Are we seeing the start of a Schism?

Over the last six to eight months, I have become more and more concerned with the path Pope Francis is taking.  Although every once in a while, he surprises me on how he takes a very conservative stand on a particular issue, most of the time the surprise is to simply leave me shaking my head in disbelief.

Recently, I have started to see a series of articles which show that Pope Francis does not want to set clear the record on amoris laetitia, and is lashing out at his critics.  In addition, I am seeing more and more articles, quoting his supporters, trashing those who may ask for clarification or simply stating that we are changing long held beliefs and practices and the Pontiff approves of them.

Is it me, or am I starting to see the start of a schism?

50th Anniversary of Cardinal Wuerl and the Catholic Standard

The Catholic Standard, the paper of the Archdiocese of Washington, ran a special on the 50th anniversary of Cardinal Wuerl's ordination to the priesthood.  It was a very glossy production, with lots of advertisements, congratulating the Cardinal and articles on him and about him.

However, there seems to have been an omission from all of the articles about the successes.  And that is, the closing/merging of a number of Catholic elementary schools, including one just last June.

How do others know us? An Observation from a Mormon.

First, I have been remiss in posting on a regular basis, but as with everything, our lives do change.  So, let me wish you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

So, on to the posting...

Not to long ago, I invited my next door neighbor out to dinner, as I had no dinner plans and he was alone.  His wife and children were visiting her parents, and he was running out of the meals she had prepared for him.  So, my offer came at an opportune time for him.  And, he is a Mormon, which is the central point of this story.

So, as we sat down for dinner, the conversation turned to our different faiths, as it usually does.  There is no "you are wrong about this" as my fundamentalist Christian neighbor down the block tells me about Catholic baptism, the Pope, etc.

It is just a time to ask some questions, such as "How does one become a Mormon Bishop?" or "What is the difference between a Cardinal and Bishop in the Catholic Church?"

During this dinner, over pizza, he made a comment that it seems the Catholic Church in the Washington DC area does a lot of advertising about Catholic Cemeteries.

Is this what we are to be known for in the Archdiocese of Washington?

A point that I made on this blog a long time ago!
