Breathing with both lungs: Eastern Orthodox make strong showing at March for Life!
March for Life President Jeanne Monahan addressed concerns that the
annual pro-life walk was too heavily Catholic, reaching out to
evangelical Protestants. But based on the participation of Eastern
Orthodox Christians in this year's events, marchers may have been
forgiven for believing the whole march breathed with the other lung.
Every major event, and several minor ones, featured distinguished clergy from the world's second largest Christian denomination.
Archpriest John Jillions, the chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), represented his church at the “National Memorial for the Preborn and their Mothers and Fathers,” an annual interdenominational prayer service held at Constitution Hall.
The most visible participation came as Orthodox clergy filled the stage at the March for Life, which began with an invocation given by Bishop Demetrios (Kantzavelos), the Greek Orthodox bishop of Chicago.

March For Life
Today is the March for Life.
If you cannot make it to the March, then pray. Pray that the Father, through the intercession of Mary, may change the hearts and minds of our elected officials and that of the everyday citizen.

Right to Life: View of a Catholic High School?
As I was surfing the web yesterday, I can across this CNN story on the annual March for Life.
In the story, two Catholic high school students are interviewed:
Alex Perry, 16, and Will Stancil, 17, were given the day off from their school. They attend a Catholic high school in Hyattsville, Maryland, where, they said, many of their friends and classmates are pro-choice.
"There's very few who are pro-life in our school, even though it is encouraged," Perry said.
"Nobody forces it on you. No one tries to sway you one way or the other. Everyone knows it's a really personal decision," Stancil said.
Now, I am not going to come down hard on these students, they gave a very honest opinion.
But, what does it say about how good a job we are doing as Catholics, esp. our schools, if this is what are young people are thinking and saying.
Oh, the only Catholic high school that fits this bill, from Hyattsville, is DeMatha.

March for Life

Say a prayer for the babies who have been aborted and their mothers.
Say a prayer for the cruel and callous politicians, esp. those who call themselves Catholic.
Say a prayer for those priests/religious that God will give them the strength to continue to speak out.
Say a payer for those priests/religious who support the murder of children.
Say a prayer for those who march today.
