CNVS, the Catholic Standard and Chris Matthews

I have been scanning carefully the last two issues of the Catholic Standard to see if there was any news on the Catholic Network of Volunteer Services (CNVS) dinner. As you remember, the Catholic Standard carried an advertisement for CNVS. The ad stated that Chris "I get a thrill up my leg" Matthews was the keynote speaker at the CNVS annual dinner.

You will also note from reading this blog that the dinner was moved from the original location to an unknown location in Chevy Chase. (I haven't gotten a hold of Muffy and Biff yet, but when I do, I will let you know the location.)

And do you know why this dinner has not been reported to date in the Catholic Standard?

Because they were a Platinum Sponsor of the CNVS Annual Dinner!!

That's right, the Catholic Standard (and in a sense the Archdiocese of Washington) were sponsor's of the dinner. (See above.)

So, not only did CNVS show that they couldn't handle the embarrassment of this by moving the dinner, the Catholic Standard did not report on this, even though they were a key sponsor!

So, here we have the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Washington, sponsoring an event, in which the keynote speaker is an outspoken advocate of abortion and gay marriage.

Way to go Catholic Standard! Way to go Archdiocese of Washington!
