Did you take the Survey?

Do you live in the Archdiocese of Washington?

Did you take the survey on the FINDTHEPERFECTGIFT over on the right?

If not, take a moment to complete it. It costs nothing and will let the powers that be, know what you think. Conversely, getting very few answers may also signal a message.

On a separate note, have you seen any signs? I have seen about 10 of them...apx. eight in front of Catholic Churches (near Georgetown Prep and Holy Cross Hospital) and two in front of a private residence in the area of Kensington.

++++++

Just a reminder, this weekend is the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religous. If you don't want to give to this collection, then please make a donation to a specific Order. Thanks!!!

Our Lady of Lourdes in Bethesda had lots of signs availible.

I put one in my car window. I looked briefly at the website - it is pretty good.

I looked at the website (only for you). Problems: (1) No story just talking heads. (2) CW argues a need for "religion" because obviously that's what he's talking about (not Jesus) to a string of lights - you won't light up if all your bulbs don't work. The Greek "whole" man theory of you a bulb of your body, a bulb of your mind, a bulb of your spirit - that you have to take care of. Jesus comes in on the spirit bulb. Perhaps CW does work for the Greeks or NPR fund raising week, I don't know. But Jesus said the greatest commandment is to, "Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength." i.e. the entire light string is devoted to God which is what makes it light up.

But anyway back to CW,who then starts blathering about coming to church to eat at a table. Recently Bishop Chaput had some words to say about this idea of the mass.

"Nobody risks torture and death for a meal with their friends. And torture and death were the frequent penalty for being caught celebrating the Eucharist in the world of the early Church."

Another sidebar of this school of thought is that the Eucharist is not the Body of (Jesus) Christ--but all of us in church are The Body of Christ through our communion at this table. I have a huge problem w/CW thinking I am one body w/Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden Andy Warhol or any of the other apostates he routinely gives communion to. I also have a problem w/being considered one body w/CMcCarrick and Weakland etc. who have not repented of sin, but actually stand in the sin. I wonder how any prayer in our country or diocese can be heard w/all these unrepentant sinners in the church. But anyway the saddest illustration of what this has done to the church is this video:

(3) The yard sign, as my mom says, says NOTHING. Imagine a yard sign that did not contain the candidates name. Try this: Jesus (Christ) is Born (in big letters). Then underneath in smaller letters: theperfectgift.org. And maybe on the reverse: Remember to Worship December 25th (not the 24th as in CW's diocese).
