Do you know of a fairly conservative parish?

A reader has lamented the fact that his/her parish is simply driving him/her crazy.  In looking at the parish website, I can see some reasons why.

Can anyone recommend a good traditional pastor/parish in MoCo or PG County?  How about readers from the Diocese of Baltimore?

Thanks!!!

Although I have been to Mass at neither, I hear that St. Bernadette's in Montgomery County (close to the beltway though) is good, although not "traditional", and that St. Jerome's in Hyattsville (PG County) is good. St. Bernadette's offers the traditional Mass on occasion and the pastor is excellent.

In addition there is the traditional Latin Mass at St. John the Baptist in Silver Spring at the old church on Rosensteel, early in the morning.

Farther up in Montgomery County I'm afraid I wouldn't have any suggestions, but I'd heard that the parish where Fr. Marcel Guarzino had been was good.

I'm in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, our parish (Good Shepherd) in Glen Burnie is VERY conservative. Our associate pastor in particular is very outspoken about homosexuality, abortion, and the like. He even called out a parishoner (by name!) who is in the MD House of Delegates and voted for the gay marriage law.

I would recommend Sacred Heart, Bowie. Conservative, and except for music program, fairly traditional.

St Jerome in Hyattsville, especially at the 10:30 am Sunday Mass, is very good (as already mentioned above).

The National Shrine near Catholic University, tho' in DC is not far from PG, has moving, respectful Masses.

Of course, everyone should make their way to St Mary Mother of God in Chinatown for the Traditional Latin Mass every now and again.

There are many good parishes in the area... St. Andrew's in Silver Spring has a very young, energetic, and devout pastor who is an excellent preacher. The parish is very active. As mentioned above, the liturgy and music at St. Bernadette's and St. Jerome's is very traditional. St. Patrick's in Rockville is good, and I've heard good things about St. Mary of the Mills in Laurel. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is a tough one... St. Louis in Clarksville is big and about as conservative as you will find in that Archdiocese. Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ellicott City should be fine too. In Frederick County, there's St. Peter's in Libertytown. Of course, in Baltimore proper, there is Mount Calvary, the former Anglican parish that came into the Church last year.

St. Mary's Piscataway in Clinton, MD, is fairly orthodox.

Also, Father Charlie Cortinovis is the parochial vicar at Mother Seton in Germantown, MD. I don't know about the parish itself (I've never been there), but I met him at another parish when he was there, and he is very orthodox and holy. Sometimes, a good priest can make all the difference!
