Maryland Voters -- Say NO to Question 4 the Nightmare Act

The wording for the Dream Act (aka The Nightmare Act) has been published by the Maryland Catholic Conference and others.

I urge you to vote NO on Question 4.  Do not give those who are in the country illegally, the same rights and privileges as those who were either born here legally or have entered the country legally.

You know the Maryland Catholic Conference is not telling the full truth on this.  And, as some of you know, they will no longer let me comment on their website about it.  I guess, they don't like it when you knock down their straw arguments.

And tell the Maryland Catholic Conference to put their efforts into defeating the Gay Marriage vote, as well as, focusing on obtaining vouchers and tax credits for those who send their children to Catholic Schools.

For shame MCC!!!

Obama, the MCC and Illegal Aliens

UPDATE - Sunday, June 17th:  Well it seems that the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB) has just come out with a statement thanking the President for his action on the deportation of young (up to age 30 -- not so young) illegal immigrants.

Once again, the USCCB has stepped in it and it gives ammo to those who support the Most Merciful.

Here is an editorial from National Review that one of my readers shared with me.  (Thanks EB.)

Obama just announced that he will grant immunity (or no longer deport) young illegal aliens.

Now, if the Archdiocese of Washington, Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) and their surrogate - Justice for Illegal Immigrants, all come out to applaud this, then...

WHY DO THEY HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH THE HHS MANDATE?

I mean, both are accomplished thru a "dictatorship" move, so if they can support one, they can support the other?  Right?

BTW, I am NOT in support of the HHS mandate, nor am in support of Obamacare.

Dream aka Nightmare Act Weekend

This weekend, the Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) is promoting the Dream Act Weekend. This will be an all out effort, among a number of different faiths, to promote/indoctrinate the faithful on why the Maryland Dream Act is important to support.

From what I have been able to gather, it will be an effort to pull on your heartstrings and make it seem like the only reasonable thing to do.

The problem is that they are not telling you that it will cost the citizens and those with legal residency apx. $60,000,000 per year.

Yep, you read it right...

SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR.

You see, they will only tell you how much it costs for one community college in one year. Remember, there are apx. 16 community colleges. What about the state colleges?

Also, watch their wording..they never say illegal aliens. The term used will either be "undocumented immigrants" or "immigrants." They will never tell you that these folks have broken the law.

Let's hear back from you on what took place at your parish on Sunday and Monday.

Repeal the Maryland DREAM Act & Abolish the MCC

Click here to sign the petition to REPEAL THE MARYLAND DREAM ACT.

++++++++++++++++++

The Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) released a statement praising Gov. O’Malley and the Maryland General Assembly for supporting the DREAM ACT. As always, the MCC hides the fact that they are supporting people who have BROKEN FEDERAL LAW and who know that they are breaking the law.

What should strike everyone about their statement is that there is NO MENTION that these men and women are ILLEGAL ALIENS. There is no mention that for each ILLEGAL ALIEN who attends college at an in-state tuition rate, it will cost taxpayers $16,000 per ILLEGAL ALIEN. And who pays for that? You, and you, and you and me.

The MCC says they do not condone breaking the law but by are rewarding those who have broken the law. Maybe the MCC should give out a $1000 check to the person or persons who break into a Catholic Church or Catholic institution?

Sounds crazy, but that is what the MCC is supporting. They are supporting those who have entered the country ILLEGALLY and rewarding them for it.

Therefore, I am calling on all Catholics and non-Catholics to sign the petition to put the DREAM ACT on the ballot in November. (The link is below.) It is important to tell the Governor, the Maryland Assembly and the MCC that we do not condone those who are here illegally, nor should they be rewarded.

In addition, I am calling on Cardinal Wuerl and the other bishops to abolish the Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) and all employees who support the rewarding of ILLEGAL activities. I URGE YOU TO DO THIS IMMEDIATELY!

MCC - Fiscally Irresponsible!

Over the last few weeks, the Maryland Catholic Conference (and by extension the Archdiocese of Washington DC), has been pushing for the Maryland Dream Act. This would allow illegal aliens the ability to get in-state tuition rates.

Now, if you read their literature, and the Catholic Standard (and did you notice the story of the illegal alien a few weeks ago), there is no mention of cost.

According to an article in the Washington Examiner (page 4, April 18th), the number thrown out is that it will cost the taxpayers of Maryland at least $3.5million.

Now, most of us know that when a number like that is thrown out is it probably more like double or triple.

And who pays for this? The citizens and legal residents of Maryland.

Tell me, in this time of increased deficits, increased costs to families, (and we won't even go into the law breaking) don't you think that this is the height of fiscal irresponsibility of the Maryland Catholic Conference and the Archdiocese of Washington?

Maybe the Archdiocese of Washington should give everyone a break on the collection next Sunday.
