Well, the Catholic Standard, it their print edition, published a lovely story about Cardinal McCarrick's 80th birthday Mass. So first, Happy Birthday.
However, and there is always the "however," there are two things about this story.
First, why was there no mention, at least that I can recall, regarding this Mass. This seems to have been one of those occasions in which you want to celebrate the globe trotting life of the Cardinal.
Second, and more importantly, the Catholic Standard makes no mention of one of the lector's at Mass was Sr. Carol Keehan, president of the Catholic Health Association. (But the WaPo did.) Yep, the same Sr. Keehan who supported the Most Merciful, Lord High Barack Obama of the Regime.
Now, Mr. Zimmerman, can you tell me why this fact was kept out of the story on Cardiinal McCarrick? Was the Archdiocese embarrassed by this?
She was disinvited to speak at the Cardinal Newman Society, allowed to speak at the Gonzaga High School, and now this.
This Archbishop and Archdiocese send very mixed messages. Either you are proud to honor those who are not faithful to the Church or you are not?
Which is it?

Step over here http://restore-dc-catholicism.blogspot.com/ to read my open letter to the Catholic Standard.
The John Carrol Society denies she was disinvited (maybe they are lying, but then why care about a so-called Catholic organization that lies?).
But Suster Carol was also invited to the Mass at the National Shrine with Bishop Holley for the anniversary of Providence Hospital. Seem very much the Archdiocese is not sending mixed signals but a clear signal of support for Sister.
