Help Democracy Work: Put the Repeal of the Dream Act on the Ballot

Click here to sign the petition to REPEAL THE MARYLAND DREAM ACT.

++++++++++++++++++++

It is time for all Catholics (and non-Catholics) to allow the people of Maryland to vote if they support the Maryland Dream Act.

Remember the following:

  • These are illegal aliens who have broken Federal law

  • For each illegal alien who attends a Maryland college, it will cost the taxpayers $16,00o per student in today's cost.

  • It will cost (a conservative estimate) over $3million per year to the Maryland taxpayers
Give the citizens of Maryland the opportunity to vote on this. Why was this rammed down our throats.

By doing so, you will also be sending a message to the Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) that we will not tolerate their support of this measure and their association with Casa of Maryland. In addition, this puts them in bed with the same politicians who support gay marriage and abortion.

Wow your Catholic and yet you try to punish children. I'm sure you have picked up something called the Bible and i hope you know that it states that children shall not pay for the sins of their fathers. If you don't believe me here you go..
(Deuteronomy 24:16) - "Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin."
(Ezekiel 18:20) - "The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself."

Anonymous, it's one thing "not to punish children for their parents' sinful behavior". It's quite another to actually reward that sinful behavior. Unfortunately, the DREAM Act is about the rewarding of sinful behavior, often at the real expense of those truly innocent parents and taxpayers who do abide by the law. For a preview of the harmful effects of the DREAM Act, go to my own blog and read yesterday' post.

We object to special entitlements being given to those who are breaking the law. These are entitlements not being granted to those who do abide by the law. We are desirous that all play on the same level field - with no special entitlements at the expense of others. That's what the referendum is about. Your labeling of this effort as "punishing children" is oh-so-typical of the progressive types. Well, guess what? You're not getting away with it. Get used to it.

However, don't despair. There is a glimmer of hope in your liberalesque, self-righteous rant. You do seem to recognize illegal entry into this country as sin. In that, you are correct.
