FOR SHAME "Catholic" Health Assn and Sr. Keehan!

The Catholic alliance that defied the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop a in supporting Barack Obama’s controversial overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system is persisting in its close relationship with the president, giving him a venue to further endorse ObamaCare at its annual meeting.

Obama will “focus on the future of health care and the Affordable Care Act,” when he delivers the “Future of Healthcare Address” June 9, closing the Catholic Health Association’s (CHA) annual membership meeting and marking the organization’s 100 anniversary.

It is time to let Sr. Keehan know that this is UNACCEPTANBLE!

And I bet we will still continue to honor Sr Carol and CHA in this Archdiocese...

Well, the news came through earlier today that

“The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million in federal tax funds, which we’ve discovered will pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of right-to-life organizations in all 50 states. ”This is just the first proof of the phoniness of President Obama’s assurances that federal funds would not subsidize abortion — but it will not be the last.”

And how many of you actually believed that he would not fund abortions?

Tom Peters over at American Papist has the CHA promo video.

Sr. Carol and CHA really disgust me. They have sold their beliefs out and they have sold those who work in Catholic hospitals, because they know they won't have to provide abortions. Eventually, Catholic hospitals will be required to perform abortions if they want any sort of federal funds/reimbursements. Don't believe me, it will only be a matter of time.

Sr. Carol and CHA are such phonies and those who invited her to speak at Gonzaga and Cardinal McCarrick should be ashamed of themselves by honoring this water carrier for the Most Merciful, Lord High Barack Obama, Leader of THE REGIME.

Archbishop Wuerl is is about time you stand up and condemn her and the CHA. Show us that you really are our shepherd and not a sheep.

Carrying the water for The Most Merciful of the Regime

Once again, Sr. Carol Keehan is once again carrying the water for The Most Merciful, Lord High Barack Obama of THE REGIME:

The Catholic Health Association (CHA) has applauded President Obama’s recess appointment of Harvard pediatrician Dr. Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Sr. Carol Keehan, D.C., CHA’s president and chief executive officer, said Berwick is needed to work on the health care mandates created by the recent health care legislation. In a Wednesday CHA press release, she reported that CMS has not had a permanent administrator since 2006.

She called Berwick “well qualified” for the position, describing him as “a visionary with great insight and knowledge of the health care delivery system based on his perspectives as a physician and teacher” who has championed high quality health care for decades.

For more on this, go to the Catholic News Agency.

I guess that Sr. Keehan doesn't care that he views health care as a redistibution of wealth, as well as, rationing of health care.

So what's a couple of abortions when you get health care for all. Right Carol?

Go here for more info on his Marxist views.

She will continue to support these corrupt and radical agendas because she knows that Archbishop Wuerl and many of the other bishops will do NOTHING. She has more to fear (and gain in this world) from the Most Merciful than she has from the bishops.

She Chose Obama over the Bishops...

Sister Carol Keehan, CEO and President of the Catholic Health Association (CHA) openly acted in favor of President Obama’s health care reform and in opposition to persistent requests from the bishops, said Cardinal Francis George, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), during their spring meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida.

During the bishops' executive session held Tuesday morning to address the fallout of CHA’s support for the health care legislation despite the bishop's opposition, Cardinal George recounted the events that took place prior to President Obama's signing of the health care reform. The prelate then concluded his remarks by criticizing CHA and Sr. Keehan, saying they have created the dangerous precedent of a parallel magisterium to the bishops.

To read more, go to the
Catholic News Agency.

Now, for those of you who supported her visit to Gonzaga, hopefully this will change your mind. It is my hope that she will no longer be allowed to speak in this Archdiocese.

It is time for our Archbishop to use the rod, as Pope Benedict has said, because whatever carrots he is using, simply does not seem to work.

Catholic Standard - Part 2

Well, it is time to remind each of you what was not reported in this week's Catholic Standard.

Mr. Richard Szezepanowski, the reporter assigned to this, noted very clearly that Archbishop Wuerl is ending his term as the Chairman of the National Catholic Education Association Board of Directors, and was honored for his "exceptional leadership."

However, he seems to have missed something. Do any of you remember what that is? It was reported on this blog (and others) on March 2, 1010?

Yes, folks, it seems that he left out the fact that the keynote speaker was Garrison Keillor. Most of us know him from Prairie Home Companion and probably think he is one of those quaint humorists. But did you know that he supports same sex marriage and abortions?

Now, how did Mr. Szczepanowski forget to leave it out?

We also have the story on Page 14 about the John Carroll Society. Congratulations to all who were honored.

But again, there was just something missing from the story. Now what was it...

Oh yes, it seems that the keynote speaker that night was to be Sr. Carol Keehan.

Now, you must remember her, she is the president of the Catholic Health Association. Still don't?

She came just days before the vote on the Health Care and supported it? Still don't? Well then, you should remember that she received on of the signature pens that the Most Merciful, Barack Obama of the Regime used to sign the bill into law.

Well, she was to be the keynote speaker but suddenly decided that it probably wasn't the best time to speak at the dinner.

Funny how Mr. Mark Zimmerman neglected to put that in the story.

There seems to be some serious memory loss at the Catholic Standard these days.

Could this be the reason why Archbishop Wuerl was silent over the last few weeks?

UPDATE: According to CATHOLICVOTE.ORG, Sr. Keehan has decided that this is not the appropriate time to speak to the Society. If you go the Society website, her name has been removed from the Dinner notice.

++++++++++++++++++++++

Sr. Carol Keehan is scheduled to speak at the Annual Dinner of the John Carroll Society on April 16th. The John Carroll Society:

Founded in 1951...promotes the enhancement of spiritual, intellectual and social fellowship among its members—in service to the Archbishop of Washington. The Society is named after the first Catholic bishop in the United States.

The Society accomplishes this goal principally through a series of events scheduled throughout the calendar year. Most notably, these events include the Red Mass and Rose Mass, for the region's Catholic legal and health care professionals (respectively).

It is time to write to the Society (let's be nice) to rescind the invitation to speak.

This one of the reasons, in my opinion, why the Archbishop was so silent during the last few weeks.

It would be pretty embarrassing for him to come out against someone who you invited to speak at the annual dinner. Especially, someone who sold out the unborn and worked against the bishops on this. But then again, the Archbishop seems to have no problem honoring pro-abortionists like Steve and Cokie Roberts and John Sweeney, so why should he have a problem with this.

In fact, I bet that when challenged, he will use the Notre Dame Defense: We are not honoring her, we are just inviting her to speak.

PS: Makes me wonder what the Standard will actually print after the event. I'll be watching. And a thank you to Tom Peters over at Catholicvote.org for bringing this to our attention.

Stand Up Against the Monster Called Health Care Reform

Although the Catholic Health Association, IMHO, has sold its' soul in endorsing this train wreck about to happen, you don't have to. Please call or write to your Representatives to stop this from happening.

Here is an interesting story about why the Democrat Party is pushing abortion is health care.

CHA and Archbp Wuerl - Free Health Care for All Now!

Recently, Archbishop Wuerl has called for universal health care for all. Sr. Carol Keehan of the Catholic Healtcare Assn. has done so for months. Of course, there are many more who have done so for a while

In concept, this is a wonderful idea. In reality, what they are all doing is relying on the government to create another entitlement to be paid for by people like me. Considering how the government is running Medicare, Medicade, and Social Security, do you really think that they can run it better than it is being run now?

Therefore, I call on Archbishop Wuerl and Sr. Carol Keehan to ask -- no require -- all Catholic hospitals and medical facilities to offer FREE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL NOW.

That's right, it is time (as the saying goes) "to put your money where your mouth is!"

If you really believe that we are in crisis mode, then offer free health care to everyone who walks in to all 600 plus hospitals and medical facilities, regardless of their ability to pay. Offer it to citizens, legal immigrants and illegal immigrants.

Offer free check-ups, free prescription drugs, free eye glasses, free surgeries, free mental illness programs. Offer all of them for free. No questions asked.

Don't worry about the cost because remember, health care is in crisis mode. You should be doing whatever you can to help solve the crisis. In fact, you may want to ask all of the union members (esp. those who work in hospitals) to take a 5% reduction in their pay to cover these costs. I mean, the union bosses tell us they support it, so the too should show that they are really committed to this.

If this issue is that important to you, then do it. Stop the talking. Don't wait for the government to do it. Show that you mean what you say.

I dare you.

CNS and the Catholic Standard - Sloppy Journalism Again!

The Catholic News Service (CNS) in does the Catholic press and readership a world of disservice by writing stories which are not fully researched. The Catholic Standard, as part of the package that they purchase from CNS, uses their stories without even doing their own investigation.

Case in point: Dr. Regina Benjamin the nominee for Surgeon General.

CNS goes through the regular bio of her. However, there is no mention that:

In December 1996, Benjamin apparently spoke in favor of a vote by the AMA's governing body to "urge medical schools to expand their curriculum" to teach "more about abortion."

She appeared to have supported teaching doctors about abortions in an interview with the Associated Press.

"We are adopting a policy that medical school curriculum provide the legal, ethical, and psychological principles associated with abortion so students can learn all the factors involved," she said.At the time, the AMA voted to reaffirm its policy position favoring abortion, saying the "termination of pregnancy is a medical matter between the patient and physician, subject to the physician's clinical judgment, the patient's informed consent and the availability of appropriate facilities."

Benjamin is also on the board of directors of Physicians for Human Rights, an organization which has spoken out against illegal abortions in many nations across the world. The group has relied on disputed statistics on maternal deaths from abortions to call for legalization.

The group also called on President Bush not to expand the Mexico City Policy, which President Obama overturned in January, that stops sending taxpayer dollars to groups that promote and perform abortions in other nations.

And it asked President Bush to ratify the CEDAW treaty that does not include abortion promotion but has been used by the United Nations to pressure numerous countries to legal abortion or expand abortions further.

(from LifeNews.com)

Until yesterday, when CNS posted an article on this based on the above.

But to add insult to injury, she is also on the Board of the Catholic Health Association.

What the heck is going on here?

A Board member of CHA who supports and encourages the legalization (and funding) of abortion? What the heck is she doing on the Board? What does that really say about CHA? When the CHA President (a religious) praises this pick (and other things the Most Merciful has done in the past), it really makes you wonder where we they are headed. (And if they think that they won't be required to provide abortions & contraception in the future, you just wait. The CHA president will probably say that the greater evil is not to provide healthcare, therefore, we must accept this little evil.)

It is time for the USCCB to really look at CNS and possibly fire not only the writer of the article but also revamp the whole vetting process that takes place when CNS publishes a story.

The Catholic Standard should not just routinely accept whatever garbage CNS puts their way. They do a great disservice to the Catholic community in this Archdiocese by not telling the whole truth.

On a separate note, so much for the Most Merciful, Lord High Barack Obama's plan to reduce aborition.

He is dividing and conquering the Catholic faithful one at a time and the liberal Catholics are just sucking it up.

Tip of the Hat to the Curt Jester for posting the LifeNews information on the Deacon's Bench.

CHA President Supports Obama's Health Picks

According to LifeNews.Com:

The president of the Catholic Health Association, Sister Carol Keehan, has issued a response to the pro-life advocates who are upset with her statement praising two pro-abortion picks by incoming president Barack Obama.

Instead of backing down from her position, Sister Keehan goes further by offering a defense of Obama as well as his new pro-abortion Health Secretary Tom Daschle and pro-abortion deputy health care director Jeanne Lambrew.

They are committed to getting access to quality health care for all Americans, including pregnant women and their unborn babies," Keehan adds. "It is my belief that we ... will prevent more abortions by ensuring tangible health care for pregnant women and their unborn babies.

Wow. This sounds like it was taken out of the Catholics for Obama playbook.

Maybe it is because they see this as a chance for socialized medicine?
