Just when the USCCB says that things are better (or that we award the CCHD Head an award), things just seem to get worse:
Two new reports have been published today on the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD).
Rob Gaspar at Bellarmine Veritas Ministry has dug more deeply into the CCHD relationship to the Center for Community Change (CCC).
In "Sleeping with the Enemy," Michael Hichborn at the American Life League has also uncovered more disturbing facts about CCC. Hichborn also chronicles the personal involvement of the USCCB's John Carr, Executive Director of Justice, Peace, and Human Development. Carr oversees the CCHD.

This is a huge issue. I'm disappointed that no one chimed in on this comment board, yet.
One thing needs to be asked. Would you mind digging a couple more bibliographical references, for corroborative purposes. This is a very serious accusation. If someone wants to fly with this revelation in writing his own articles, he needs more proof. He/she needs ironclad confirmation. Do you think you dig up more proof on this issue?
If this is true, then it is worse than Watergate.
Literally so.
At the same time, it's not surprising. It just makes you think, "Oh no. Not again. And the beat goes on."
To the First Anon:
This has been a pattern w/ the CCHD and documented over the last few years -- giving to groups that align themselves with groups that are opposed and working in direct opposition to Church teaching.
There is a saying: Fool me one, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
We have been fooled over and over by CCHD, esp. in how it has been presented over the years to Catholics.
if you have been caught doing something wrong over and over, don't you think it is time we stop.
Mr. DC Catholic (Big D):
You mean that this has been going on and on and on? Oh. But, it figures, though.
Well, any web addresses that you or any reader can cite, in showing the needed proof of this practce, would be super appreciated. After all, we don't want phantom comment leavers to keep crying, "misinformation, misinformation!"
Do we?
It doesn't have to be today, tommorrow, or even this month. If you trip over a pertinent website, make it known to us.
As a parting comment, it's irksome to read someone allege "misinformation," without that person stating what written things are false and without him or her proving those written things to be false. That is a person who seeks to persuade but who declines to teach.
Anon:
If you are a regular reader of this blog, we have posted a number of articles regarding CCHD. A great deal of work has been done by many on this and posted in many places.
I recommend you look at here, American Papist (now CatholicVote.org), Restore DC Catholicsm, and Inside Catholic, just to name a few.
Thank you for reading.
