Traditional Latin Mass before the March for Life

A reader asked me to post this. I am more than happy to do so.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Traditional Latin Mass Forma Extraordinaria
Will be offered preceding the March for Life at 8:00 a.m, Friday, January 22, 2010 St. Mary, Mother of God Church (Old Saint Mary’s) 727 Fifth Street, NWWashington, D.C. 20001

For the first time since Roe v. Wade, Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be offered in downtown Washington, D.C. prior to the March for Life. Please join us for holy Mass to prayerfully begin your day calling on our nation to provide protection for children in the womb.

The Mass offered will be a low Mass. Old Saint Mary’s church is located just south of H Street NW on 5th Street, just one block east of the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station. Use the Chinatown exit from the Metro station.

Please take this opportunity to forward this invitation to any out of town visitors you may be expecting for the March for Life. Special thanks to his Excellency Archbishop Donald Weurl for the provision of this newly offered Mass in the Extraordinary Form.

Just a historical note:
There was a TLM offered in January 2008 by Abbé Gérard Trauchessec.

Also, thanks should go to the pastor Fr. Alfred Harris who instituted this weekly Friday TLM.

Finally, I have heard there will be some Franciscans offering private TLMs starting at 7:30 am at St. Mary's.

I wish I found this before I left for the March for Life. Some friends I went with said they had a traditional mass at the basilica the last few years but for some reason they didn't have it there this year. Would have loved to have been at St Marys.
