- Gov. Martin O'Malley graduated from Gonzaga and tells us he goes to Mass each day. But he will sign the bill on same sex marriage.
- Del. Robert Garagiola (D-Montgomery) says that gays should have the same marriage benefit as he and his wife his in a Catholic Church 14 years ago.
- House Speaker Michael E. Busch (D-Anne Arundel) used to teach and coach at his old Catholic high school will support same sex marriage.
- Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. (D-Calvert) supports same sex marriage.
This was all laid out in a Washington comPost article last week.
I wonder, how many of these well known politicians, are known by the priests of their churches.
I wonder how many of them receive Holy Communion on a regular basis.
I wonder when our clergy, at all levels, will tell these so called "catholyc" politicians, that they days of having it both ways are over.
That by voting for pro-gay legislation and pro-abortion legislation, you will no longer be able to receive the sacraments.
Cardinal Wuerl cannot say that some of the politicians listed do not reside in the Archdiocese. So,that cannot be an excuse.
As I have said over and over, as long as our clergy -- from Cardinal Wuerl to the newest Deacon -- continue to look the other way, politicians will continue to ignore our wishes.
You can lobby all you want, it doesn't matter.
