Help Stop DACA and Maryland Catholic Conference!

It seems that the Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) is pushing to support DACA.   They are sending out their pre-written emails and asking everyone to simply sign.

However, you can turn the tables on the MCC and show them that those who violate the law, should not be rewarded.

When they send you the canned form to complete, simply change it.  Change the note to say that you do not support DACA and that you do not want your legislators to sponsor it.

Let's do it!

Someone needed to arrest the Holy Family for their illegal Flight into Egypt

Well Kurt, that would have depended upon the laws that Egypt had at the time. Now, your homework is to find out exactly what the immigration laws were at that time and report back to us. Can you do that?

Kurt said...

Sure. It was illegal. While there was lax enforcement Egypt, as a tributary of Rome, would not have accepted someone leaving without Herod's permission.

Just because you say it was illegal, does not mean it was. Do you have any sort of documentation to back up your statement?

1In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to be registered, each to his own town.

Kurt, Kurt, Kurt, that had to do with the taking of a census, and nothing to do with illegal immigration. Do you not think that I do not know the Biblical story. So, let me help you, since you have been caught. There were no laws regarding immigration in the Roman Empire.

Really? Your presumption is that political units do not regulate borders? That is this not a natural and ordinary function of government? Sorry, but the Empire commanded all be in their own town for the census. Not obeying this law was not obeying the law.

Kurt, Kurt, Kurt, once again, you are trying to confuse the issue and get yourself out of a bit of a mess. So, let me help you out here again. First, your quote from the New Testament has to do with the taking of the census at that time in history. What DACA is about (pay attention to this) focuses on those who have entered the country illegally -- whether it be of their own free will or that of their parents -- and their future status in the country. Again, the Roman Empire did not have laws regarding immigration. So, thank you for participating with me in this.
