I was amazed when I looked at Deacon Mark Asselin's (assigned to St. Elizabeth's parish in Rockville, MD) twitter account and found that he is a supporter of Planned Parenthood. It makes perfect sense.
Hey, is anyone in Hyattsville awake?
The thoughts and musings of a Roman Catholic in the Archdiocese of Washington.

The most recent issue (January 21m 2021) of the Catholic Standard shows that Fr. Briese, who was the pastor at St. Mary's (Charlotte Hall, MD) is on a leave of absence.
After some further digging, it seems that he went on a leave of absence in early October.
Why was it now only reported in the Catholic Standard? It seems strange to me that they would wait this long, to publish this change in personnel.
A letter from Fr. Keith Woods, issued on the parish website on Oct. 16th, indicates that he has been appointed administrator and that they during this time, they are searching for an "appropriate and permanent priest." You can view the letter below.
So, the letter is very odd in the fact:
1. There is no mention of Fr. Briese. Nothing that he left. Nothing about why he left. No word of thanks. Nothing. Total silence.
2. There is quite a bit about how Fr. Woods is from southern Maryland, and so he is familiar with the area.
3. That they are searching for an "appropriate and permanent priest."
I do know, from a reliable source, is that he was running himself ragged attempting to help both parishioners and non-parishioners with food and other items during the summer, especially due to the job losses because the Wuhan Virus.
Considering that he was the only priest for that parish, could it be that he suffered a nervous breakdown? I do not know. Hopefully, they did not send him to St. Luke's.
If he was looking to do something else, such as work in the overseas missions, well, that would have been announced, as with Fr. Dan Leary.
Could it be that he in some way "displeased" +Gregory? It is a possibility but it is speculation.
So, if you know what has happened to Fr. Briese, please let me know at awashingtondccatholic@gmail.com.
If you are in contact with him, let him know that I will keep him in my prayers.
Even though +Gregory has blocked me on Twitter, my friend Melvin was kind enough to send me a screen shot.
Remember how I said that +Gregory was silent on Biden's abortion moves, well, here is a screen shot of his twitter account (most likely managed by someone in his Communications Department) taken on the afternoon of January 30th.
You can see, that there are nothing about Biden and abortion.
Sad and shameful.
As you may or may not know, the Cardinal Archbishop of Washington Wilton Gregory came out a few weeks ago and stated that he wants to dialog with Biden. Here is part of the interview with Religious News Service.
I want to begin a relationship with him that allows us to have a serious conversation, knowing full well that there are issues that he and I will be diametrically opposed to, but hopefully also being able to capitalize on issues that we can advance together.
I don’t want to go to the table with a gun on the table first.
However, there were two major actions taken by Biden, since his inauguration:
1. His statement on his recommitting to “codifying Roe v. Wade” on the 48th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion nationwide as pro-life advocates vowed to fight the administration’s pro-choice agenda.
2. Cancellation of US backing of the Mexico City Policy.
On both of these, +Gregory has been silent.
One one level, I would say that this is shameful.
However, I am wondering if he actually believes that abortion is murder and supports the Catholic position.
What do you think?
Another day, another set of older Tweets from Deacon Mark Asselin of St. Elizabeth's in Rockville, MD.
Not certain why he supported the new US Senators from Georgia. They are both pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage and Warnock is a racist and child abuser (from the summer camp he ran). But then again, maybe this Catholic Deacon, supports pro-abortion, pro-gay, racist and child abusing politicians. Interesting
