Cardinal Gregory Needs Your Financial Support and I find it baffling and reprehensible...

Well, as we come to the end of the year, Cardinal Gregory has issues a plea for financial help.

So, I say to +Gregory:

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you are once again asking for our support, when you state that you are willing to dialogue with Biden, but refused to do so with President Trump.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you and your team lied to everyone about knowing that President Trump would visit the JPII Shrine and laid the blame on the Knights of Columbus.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you are willing to overlook Biden's very public and well known stance on abortion, but refuse to deny him Communion.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you are willing to look the other way, for those who are in a same-sex marriage, employed by the Archdiocese.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you remained silent for many months, while our churches were shut down.  The only time you spoke up was when it became apparent, that you would not have large Christmas attendance, which is the largest donation day in the diocese.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you did not quarantine yourself when you returned to the US from Rome, but had no problem quarantining yourself when you went to Rome.

I find it baffling & reprehensible that you have the nerve to come and ask for support, after all of these things -- and these are the things which we know of.

So, I say to you and to everyone else: If you choose to donate, ensure that it stays in your parish.  When you donate, specifically state that it must stay in the parish or designate it for a specific use.  For example, pay for the sacramental wine, pay for the hosts, pay the electric bill.   In this manner, the Archdiocese cannot get their hands on it.

+Gregory: A Rumor?

There is a rumor spreading around TWITTER that +Gregory will be tapped to replace +Wuerl, to be part of the group to help select new cardinals.   In part, this would be due to his race.

Now, this would be a mistake for two reasons:  (1) we do not need to put people in positions due to race, we need to put them in because of competency; (2) he is a Bernadin/McCarrick protege.

BTW, +Wuerl is 80 and therefore must step down from the committee, which helps identify cardinals.

Catholic Standard Update for April 4, 2019

Well, it is that time of the month for a review of what is in the Catholic Standard.  I do this as a public service announcement (PSA) for you.

It was too late for the Standard to publish the news of Bp. Wilton Gregory, but do expect the next edition to be filled with glowing stories and lots and lots of advertisements, with parishes and other dioceses offering their congratulations on the announcement.

We continue to see the rehabilitation of Cardinal Wuerl this week, with the article (and photo) of him at the Red Mass.

In addition, we have the following stories:

  • A couple of stories about those who are entering the Church this year.
  • An article on the Engaging the Mission workshop.
  • A full page story on how Auxilary Bishop Roy E. Campbell was elected president of the National Black Catholic Congress.  Half of the story was a repeat of his biography.
  • Maryland Day at St. Clement's Island.  Have always wanted to go there and be a part of it.  Guess I will have to wait till next year.
  • We have an article by Msg. Enzler, which is really a veiled exhortation to give to Catholic Charities.  BTW, CC is hurting this year because of the Mr. McCarrick and Cardinal Wuerl fiasco.  Many major donors have cut back.  More on this another day.
  • We have a story on how Sacred Heart School celebrated the feast day on March 24th.
  • We have a story on the St. Francis International School and the Srs. of Notre Dame de Namur.  In the photo of the sisters, not one of them is wearing a habit.  BTW, it seems that there is a story on St. Francis at least once a quarter.  Is this my imagination?
  • And finally, we have a story about liberal/lefty Bp. Francis A. Quinn of Sacramento.
There you go.  Have a great weekend.

Bishop Wilton Gregory -- A DISASTER for the ARCHDIOCESE

We don't need another Bernadin, McCarrick, Wuerl bishop in DC.

I know that this is long but listen to the first 12 minutes of this, to learn how corrupt and deceitful Bishop Gregory is.

Another Corrupt Bishop
