Over the last few days, I have asked two basic questions:
Why does Archdiocese of Washington DC keep someone who is indicted for fraud, in a position of responsibility for the finances for the Diocese?
Is the Archdiocese of Washington DC Finance Council going along with is or have they objected to the Archbishop? And if they have objected, why has their advice been ignored?
Therefore, there is only one way to get to the bottom of this: Ask the Finance Council.
But, there is a problem: there is no list to be found on the diocese website. You would think that this was one of those things that if they tell you, they would have to kill you.
However, after a bit of poking around, my sources have come up with what we believe to be a partial list. Here they are:

Thank you for your articles about the Archdiocese Finance Council. You are absolutely right that some very questionable activities going on. The question is, why are good Catholics, such as Abel (who is an Attorney and should know better) colluding with the Archbishop and his buddies in such a covert and unscrupulous manner? The contempt of these individual for the parishioners of the Archdiocese is shocking! These individuals fully know that Mike Kelly is on board. Yesterday I talked with an individual who is involved with parish finances and this individual told that Mike Kelly is still advising the Council and that he is the master mind for the parish schools and churches that will be closed or converted to “chapels” in the next two years. Mike Kelly's approach is to hit hard and fast. Lying and false information are just fine. Mike Kelly and his cohorts are counting on parishioners to be too naive and powerless to stand up to their attempt to make our Archdiocese their personal ATM card. All you have to do is see how quickly and diabolically they closed 15 Catholic schools in the last two year and yet make everyone think it was a “grand idea”. Wait to see the “for sale” signs go up on these properties. There is no mistake that the Catholic Center City Consortium School Charters were given to two D.C. developers, Joe Bruno and Jack Griffin. Tragically, our Archdiocese is on sale to the highest bidder.
