O'Malley and Archbishop O'Brien on Gay Marriage

Two days before Gov. Martin J. O’Malley announced his July 22 decision to sponsor legislation legalizing same-sex marriage in Maryland, Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien sent him a private letter urging O’Malley – a Catholic – to “refrain” from promoting the redefinition of marriage.

The governor's office decided to make the letter from the Archbishop public, as well as, his response.

You can read all about it here.

What a joke! Here is the Archbishop:

"What our nation and this state need is the kind of leadership on display during this past legislative session when legislator after legislator in Maryland’s General Assembly brought the courage of their convictions to the public square. In rejecting legislation to redefine marriage, those legislators stood tall amidst the barrage of back door arm-twisting and deal-making to put what is best for Maryland, best for society ahead of political interests." [All protestant as quoted in Cath Standard - see link. Catholic after Catholic, Frush, Healey, Rosapepe, O'Malley supported this legislation -- in fact "Catholic" Heather Mizeur sponsored the legislation

Where did our Catholic legislators get their convictions and where did the Protestants get theirs? Here is the Archbishop O'Brien again:

"Such convictions are formed at home, at school and at church...I continue to pray, and ask the people of the Archdiocese to do the same,"

But will we pray in CHURCH, Archbishop? Perhaps we will have a DREAM Sabbath weekend during the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to "help draw Republicans back to supporting" marriage? Perhaps we will see quotes about those who support gay marriage like these: "Christ was committed to "the care and protection of the most vulnerable, especially children. To continue to punish these children is nothing less than anti-Christian, anti-American and morally reprehensible."

It is more than "unfortunate" and "regrettable", that just like Ananias and Caiaphas, not only will O'Malley burn in hell for eternity with Herod but so will O'Brien and McCarrick.
