Priest and Deacon Removed from Ministry (October 2023)

Both a priest and deacon were removed from ministry in October 2023 due to alligations.  This was announced only in the affected parishes and the Catholic Standard.  I would bet that 99.9% of Catholics in the Archdiocese know nothing about it.

Here is the article from the Standard.

A DC Priest Refused His Paycheck...

Priests in the Archdiocese of Washington are given a paycheck, like any other priest in any other diocese.  Well, it seems that the Arch. of Washington has denied a priest his pay, serving in a position that the Cardinal has mandated him to do.

Read on...

 +++

Last week I was refused my paycheck. This of course is not exactly shocking. My homosexual Cardinal of Washington has already asked Rome to dismiss me from priesthood because he claims I am disobedient. I am not disobedient! We have spoken. He destroys men!s lives. I have witnessed him destroy the good names of priests. Rather I have been very frank to his face and told him I will not be coerced by his own abuse of the powers he holds as my bishop.

Since the 1860s my Archbishop has been a champion protector among our sexually promiscuous American priests and bishops. In my letter sent in late May 2023, I asked him if he had ever lied down and made live with another homosexual man? I asked because I received a phone call informing me that this Cardinal, Wilton Gregory had been known as the “African Queen” when he was the Archbishop of Atlanta. So I wrote and asked him if this was true? That was around May 30,2023. I have yet to hear back from Archbishop Gregory. Nonetheless his silence has spoken.

A Reminder of a Link between a Priest Abuser and a Priest in the Arch. of Washington

The #199 episode of The Angry Catholic (the wheat and the tares / AID – the crime committed against the faith / the fix is not in)speaks to a story about a seminarian who was abused by a priest, and how little was done with about a priest in NJ who abused seminarians.  This priest has a link to a priest here in the Archdiocese of Washington, which I had forgotten about.

You can listen to it here.  It begins at the 29 minute mark.

Child sex abuse lawsuit filed against Archdiocese

The Archdiocese of Washington is facing a class action lawsuit, now that a new Maryland law has eliminated statutes of limitations on civil claims.

By lifting the statute of limitation, sexual abuse victims can come forward years after an incident occurred. Three anonymous victims say they have suffered physical, emotional and financial harm as a result of child sexual abuse.

Attorney Jonathan Schochor is representing the three victims.

DC Police: ‘No investigation’ into abortion center."

The Metropolitan Police Department backtracked Thursday evening, informing The Daily Signal that it is not, in fact, investigating abortionist Cesare Santangelo and his Foggy Bottom abortion clinic.

“For clarification, the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of five fetuses in a residence,” Public Information Officer Hugh Carew said.

The Proclamation

In the Catholic Church alone, here in the Archdiocese of Washington, we have had six Archbishops. Four of them were or are now practicing homosexuals. Omitted from these homosexual episcopal infidels are Archbishops O’Boyle and Hickey. Otherwise, when the adult Catholics, that is to say the MATURE GROWN UP Catholic laity were not in the room or watching, our entrusted good shepherd bishops and their ordained priestly cohorts would truly make love and not war.

How has all this homosexual predation payed off? Look at the empty pews! In that void of human beings is the answer to the results of these past sixty years of strong, powerful and influential homosexual bishops. Sexual promiscuity among celibate priests, child raping and the cover ups and destruction of evidence and perjury committed by bishops and priests and laity have exploded into a dying modern day Catholic Church here in America.

Pro-life rescuers immediately incarcerated following jury’s guilty verdict in DC FACE Act trial

A jury on Tuesday found five pro-life activists guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and conspiracy against rights. They were immediately incarcerated following the verdict and could face more than a decade in prison for their efforts to prevent women from killing their preborn babies.

In a statement to LifeSiteNews at the courthouse on Tuesday, defendant William Goodman urged his supporters “to forgive the jury, the judge, and all those who witnessed against us, and to pray that they would see how God loves the gift of every human life.”

Note:  Have you noted that we have not heard a word from the Archdiocese of Washington over this?  Their silence says so much about our leadership.

Maryland Supreme Court affirms Catholic groups don’t have to give benefits to homosexual partners

The Maryland Supreme Court ruled 4-3 on August 14 that Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is not required to extend marriage benefits to “married” homosexuals under state law.

As covered by LifeSiteNews and the Lepanto Institute in 2020, the suit highlighted multiple details casting doubt on CRS’s fidelity to Catholic principles, including having a senior executive vice president in a same-sex “marriage” and then-CEO Dr. Carolyn Woo claiming there was “not a clear path” as to whether Catholic organizations should or should not employ people in same-sex “marriages” for “non-ministerial” positions.

Maryland’s Democrat Attorney General Anthony Brown condemned the ruling and called on the state legislature to pass new legislation forcing religious employers to recognize homosexual unions.

The Forgotten from Fr. Michael's Newsletter

I looked out the side window and this same big and strong man who had a major scar on his forehead asked me for one dollar. Now, even at 7-11 one cannot buy any product for only $1.00. None at all. Before he came knocking on my window, I had looked him over and figured he was working and probably truly in need.

So, when he came beside my truck I already had a ten dollar bill folded up in my right hand. And so, in the few minutes we spoke, I learned that God had yet again, sent forth another stranger, another beggar and another reminder that this stranger, like all people, is my brother. Do I really believe that I am my brother’s keeper? How do you answer this question? How do you live out this question? How do you put your faith into action?

This man told me he is a hard working and reliable jack of many trades but a master at none. He does drywall, painting, landscaping and other types of work. But he is not fully employed daily. It is all hit and miss! When he works a full day he can make $150.00. And sometimes when he works a full day, the contractor refuses to pay him at all. And he is stuck!

After listening, I again asked him how much money he really needed and again he said $1.00. I told him to take care of himself and especially his body and mind, and to stay away from alcohol, drugs and even cigarettes.

DC FACE trial: Pro-life defense not allowed to say ‘infanticide,’ ‘abortion,’ or ‘innocent lives’

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – In a criminal trial I thought it was the job of the defense to argue in any way they thought reasonable to defend their client in court. I also thought it was the job of the jury to adjudicate the truth of the arguments offered by each side; and that it was the job of the judge to assure as much as possible that impartial jurors be selected to adjudicate whether the guilt of the defendants has been proven or not, and to impartially oversee the procedural progress of the trial.

Such, however, does not seem to have been the understanding of the judge in the present FACE Act trial in Washington D.C. in which charges of conspiracy and violations of a federal statute – a statute dependent upon the now-overturned Roe v. Wade and designed to assure at the federal level access to abortion facilities – are being leveled against nine pro-lifers, who sought to rescue the unborn from the untimely death of abortion.

Yesterday, while I watched Day One of the trial unfold in the courtroom, the prosecution and defense made their opening statements and heard the first several witnesses that the prosecution brought to the case. If the selection of a predominantly pro-abortion jury – in a case in which the defendants have said they acted out of their conviction that abortion is the murder of the baby – were not already an indication that the verdict is essentially predetermined in this trial, then the continual objections of the prosecution during the opening statement of the defense, and the full cooperation of the judge in sustaining them, should indicate the guided direction in which this trial is going.

Pro-Life Activists Assaulted in DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – Abortion supporters attacked two pro-life activists sidewalk counseling outside of Planned Parenthood’s mega-abortion center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. Despite video of the attacks, D.C. police will not press charges, the pro-life activists said.

Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU) is an anti-abortion group that allies itself with liberals on other issues, including support for Black Lives Matter what it calls “trans rights,” according to its website. Also on Saturday, members of the group also faced attacks at another location where they were handing out free supplies to help pregnant and parenting moms.

Abortion activists “assaulted” Terrisa Bukovinac and Michael Gribbin, both with PAAU, “outside the DC Planned Parenthood” on Saturday morning, according to a news release from the group.

Fr. Dan Leary Update (Part 2)

I was informed, via the grapevine, that the real reason Fr. Dan Leary was asked to return was that he was given only a three (3) year leave of absence from the Archdiocese of Washington to do this mission work.

Everything that I had heard or at least understood was that this was permanent.

Maybe Fr. Dan was hoping that it would be extended?

Maybe it was understood that this part of the agreement was not to be discussed?

Maybe I was not told the truth on this?

Don't have an answer to that.  Maybe you do.

Fr. Dan Leary and Human Trafficing (not what you think) in LifeSite News

We think of Christ on the cross here, the Christ who suffered torment, but also the Christ who rose,” Leary said. “Because of the heavy trauma, many of these girls have spiritually and emotionally died. It is work to enter into the wound of abuse, to allow a man – even a priest – who desires to spiritually help them to enter into that dark place. But these girls are also smart; they know they have to live.”

“When they fully open themselves to healing, this dark place of theirs becomes a place of the empty tomb; where death and evil lose, where the girls begin to crawl out of their caves.”

Several sisters wept and confided to me of their love for Leary. “He has awakened me – he has awakened all the Sisters – to the sacrificial love of a father,” Sr. Marilyn said. Sr. Margie Cheong, the woman who once headed all the Sisters of Mary communities throughout Central and South America, said Leary’s fatherly presence – especially as it relates to his emphasis on healing in front of the Eucharist – has transformed the entire community.

“Even if I asked [Leary] to slow down, I couldn’t do anything to stop him. It is very strange; his work ethic to help the children and the sisters seems a supernatural grace,” she said. “All of us need an hour or two to ourselves to break away, but not him. He keeps going… Many Sisters have told me that his priesthood and his spiritual direction have changed their lives.”

+++

A dozen or so priests, a bishop, and seminarians have visited Leary over the past few years to assist with the mountain of his spiritual work. “I was wiped out after a few days,” said a priest from Washington, D.C.

Fr. Dan’s work is non-stop; simply, it is a supernatural grace that sustains him. The devil is relentless, and Fr. Dan’s work in these villas is proof that with God’s supernatural grace, a single priest can be an instrument that brings large and relentless measures of love and healing.

All day long he works with kids who’ve been beaten up, and individually, he listens to them all. But here’s the thing; these kids are healing. He’s equipping them with the spiritual tools to live again and be productive members of their villages, colleges, and communities. In some measure, he is helping to rebuild the Catholic Church in Mexico through these children.

83 Year Old Pro-Lifer Attacked in Takoma Park

An 83-year-old pro-life woman was physically attacked by a much younger woman as she prayerfully protested outside an abortion facility in a suburb of Washington, D.C.

The unprovoked, brutal assault on Olga Fairfax occurred at a busy intersection on Saturday morning, July 8, in front of a Takoma Park office building housing the Silver Spring Gynecology and Family Planning. This business offers medical and surgical abortions.

Longtime pro-life warrior Olga Fairfax had stationed herself and her 4’ x 6’ sign depicting an aborted child when, despite heavy traffic, a woman stopped her car in the road, jumped out, and proceeded to land one blow after another relentlessly on Fairfax’s body.

Fr. Dan Leary is Back

In June/July 2020, Fr. Dan Leary left the Archdiocese of Washington (St. Andrew the Apostle, Silver Spring) to become the chaplain of the Sisters of Mary, which serves the poor worldwide.  You can find more about them here.

It was reported in the latest issue of the Catholic Standard, in the section on Clergy Assignments, that Fr. Leary has been assigned as Pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Clinton, MD.

I had assumed that his transfer was permanent, as there was no indication in any writing that this was temporary.

His videos on his work stopped about two years ago.  Recently, there were a few that appeared on the website for FOCUS in regards to Lent and Holy Week.

I do not know the reason for this.  Don't know if there was a falling out.  Don't know if was due to illness.  Don't know if he became burned out.  Don't know if he realized that this was not the life Christ was calling him to be.

I simply do not know.

No matter what, please keep him in your prayers.

Catholic Parents who send their children to MoCo Public Schools: Are you aware of this?

REA(LifeSiteNews) — One of the largest and most radically pro-LGBT school districts in America is indoctrinating children into LGBT ideology as early as age 4 without parents’ consent or even their knowledge.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), located in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., announced in an email on March 23 that parents can no longer opt their children out of pro-LGBT books and lessons.

The district, which has more than 160,000 students, will not even notify parents before exposing children to transgenderism and homosexuality, according to the email.

“MCPS expects all classrooms to be inclusive and safe spaces for students, including those who identify as LGBTQ+ or have family members in the LGBTQ+ community,” the email said. “A broad representation of personal characteristics within curricular or instructional materials promotes this desired outcome.”

Archdiocese blasts Walter Reed after 'cease and desist' to priests ahead of Holy Week

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is receiving backlash after it ended its contract for pastoral care and directed a "cease and desist order" to a community of Franciscan Catholic priests and friars at Holy Name College on March 31, days before Holy Week.

The priests had spent the last two decades ministering to U.S. military personnel, veterans, and their beneficiaries at the medical center.

Another Legal Attack on a Catholic Hospital

Although not in the Archdiocese of Washington, another Catholic hospital has been legally attacked for holding true to the faith.

A federal judge in Maryland ruled in favor of a gender-confused woman who sued a Catholic hospital for not removing her healthy uterus.

Judge Deborah Chasanow, a Bill Clinton appointee, ruled that “Jesse” Hammons could continue her lawsuit against University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center for denying her request for a hysterectomy in 2019. Hammons is “married” to Lura Groen, a pastor of the left-wing Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
